Holberton School is dedicated to meeting the educational needs of a developing and expanding society in a highly advanced technological community. Our mission is to provide learners with the skills and technical knowledge needed for initial employment in entry-level positions. The institution is committed to preparing students academically and professionally to meet the constantly changing employment requirements needed to be successful in a career in software engineering.

Holberton has decided to take an innovative approach to educate its students for a career in software engineering. We do this by focusing on and engaging our students in project-based and peer learning. As a result, students will develop critical thinking, problem-solving skills, project management, time management, researching information, goal setting and learn how to prioritize. Thus, providing our graduates with the academic, cognitive, and professional skills necessary for career advancement.

Holberton School Tulsa opened in 2020 in partnership with the George Kaiser Family Foundation. Although Holberton Tulsa has not had a graduating class yet, graduates at other Holberton schools have gone on to work for LinkedIn, Google, Tesla, Docker, Apple, Dropbox, Facebook, Pinterest, Genentech, IBM, and more.

Campus Coordinator

Department: Operations
Job Title: Campus Coordinator
Location: Tulsa, Oklahoma (on campus position)

Job Description: Purpose

At Holberton School, we are dedicated to our students’ success and committed to providing them with our best service from start to finish. Our passionate Campus Coordinator will operate as the face of the school to students and visitors when they arrive on campus. This role will have a constant pulse of our campus – from optimizing our facilities to working with external vendors to best serve our students in their learning environment. You will join a highly-motivated team that is driven to train the next generation of software engineers for Tulsa.

Tasks

  • Greets students and guests alike by staffing our front desk & checking in visitors.
  • Manages and maintains the uses and booking of campus rooms, spaces, & technology.
  • Serves as the point of contact for outside vendors and service providers.
  • Owns inventory process for campus-related goods and services.
  • Ensures campus is maintained as a best-in-class learning environment.

Work Activities

  • Runs the front desk of campus and acts as the first “welcome” at Holberton Tulsa.
  • Oversees campus access. Includes management of campus access (badges, iPad system), badge creation & replacement, and managing plans for access during events.
  • Oversees the booking and use of on-campus resources & assets.
  • Ensures staff & students have reliable, high-quality access to campus resources & assets. Including but not limited to conference rooms, technology, and learning spaces.
  • Helps with student onboarding through campus set up (internet/computer access, parking, badges, etc.)
  • Manages technology systems and processes. Including but not limited to training campus staff on the use of campus resources, building and maintaining documentation for campus technology, and onboarding students on appropriate campus technology.
  • Problem solves when technical difficulties arise.
  • Serves as the point of contact to vendors and service providers.
  • Coordinates with vendors and service providers when their services are needed on campus.
  • Owns the inventory of campus equipment and supplies.
  • Manages orders for campus equipment and supplies when inventory is low.
  • Helps with ordering supplies for on campus events.
  • Oversees campus lost & found.
  • Ensures there are processes and procedures to maintain a clean and safe campus.
  • Serves as a resource to students for questions about campus and campus assets.

Qualifications: Education & Experiences

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years of relevant work experience.
  • Preferred: IT experience, previous work with software & hardware (desktop computers, network access troubleshooting, crestron systems, active directory)

Job Description: Purpose

Our passionate Community Relations Representative will operate as the face of the school in our community, building relationships and partnerships that lead to more interest in coding and Holberton school. The Community Relations Representative is responsible for building pathways to Holberton from organizations across our community and region and will represent the school externally to other community initiatives and institutions.

Tasks

  • Recruits qualified applicants by way of strategic community, non-profit, and education partners.
  • Develops deep partnerships to increase school’s community and educational impact.
  • Executes all relevant strategic partnership plans for every partnership owned. Ensures partnership
    launches, maintenance, project timelines, community impact, and key results are tracked and achieved.
  • Research, recommend, and participate in the appropriate local and regional community and
    professional organization events to represent school’s and extend reach.

 

Work Activities

  • Understands and conforms to the school’s philosophy of truly caring about students.
  • Plans programs promote goodwill and foster relationships with community leaders in cities where

  • Serves as a liaison between school’s and the community by relaying community thoughts and opinions to the executive management and key stakeholders.
  • Assists in conducting interviews with the press or drafting company responses to request information in coordination with the Marketing efforts and executive management.
  • Manages relationships with any contract public relations firm to aid in achieving student recruitment outcomes.
  • Develops deep partnerships to increase school’s reach and Community and educational impact.
  • Shares information with prospective students about campus and program opportunities.
  • Executes a relevant strategic partnership plan for every partnership owned, ensuring partnership
    launches, maintenance, project timelines, community impact, and key results are achieved.
  • Delivers partnership presentations to potential partner organizations.
  • Researches, recommends, and participates in the appropriate local and regional community and
    professional organization events to represent school’s and extend reach.
  • Incorporates consistent utilization of marketing and partnership communication to enhance school’s
    being top of mind for Career Upskilling  opportunities.
  • Plans and participates in the school’s hosted events. Participation includes pre-event efforts to secure
    partner participation and marketing of the event to appropriate audiences, support the day-of activities,
    and complete follow-up tasks.
  • Demonstrates thoughtful and appropriate time management in extending the vision, strategies, and
    tactics required for sustained partner engagement and implementation across all assigned accounts.
  • Maintain timely, accurate, and thorough documentation of all activities, tasks, contacts, and account management.
  • Develop, orient and support engaged alumni to represent school’s in events, within their places of
    employment, or with other opportunities.
  • Functions as a subject matter expert in the appropriate situations.
  • Represent Holberton at career fairs, high schools and other student events, as needed.
  • Participate in recruiting and partnership events (eg. Girls Who Code event, UCG Launch).
  • Be familiar with the school catalog.
  • Participates in the school objectives of meeting and maintaining goals.
  • Attends various professional growth activities to maintain qualifications.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Maintaining Job Qualification Requirements Year-Over-Year:
In-Service Training Requirements

Individuals fulfilling this position are required to maintain professional development. Documentation providing
proof of professional development must be provided to the Executive Director and a copy will be maintained in
the respective employee’s employment file. Professional development actives need to occur minimally, twice
a year. Acceptable activities include but are not limited to the following activities.

a. Attend webinars or training sessions regarding Admissions training.

b. Take relevant courses and/or certification exams.

In-Service Training Requirements

In-service training is provided to individuals fulfilling this position to enhance their skills set. Holberton provides
its employees with access to webinars, training sessions, and a collection of professional materials to keep
abreast of current requirements, techniques, best practices, and policies and procedures. Training will occur
during regular and on-going meetings.
